Januari is the main character in my book Fire and Ice. She is 17 years old, and has looked after her sisters since she was 10. The way she sees it, her story is already completely planned out for her. She thinks that she’ll be at home looking after her sisters until her mid-thirties.
But the way other people see it, she is a hard-working and modest young woman, and she deserves her happy ending perhaps more than anyone else. She is also very selfless, and although she may seem innocent, you don’t want to get on the wrong side of Januari Winters.
She is very determined and always speaks her mind and stands up for what she believes in. She will do anything for the ones she loves, but she also tends not to pay attention to people when they tell her not to work herself too hard.
She is extremely independent and is always in control. When she feels she’s lost control of her life, she feels vulnerable and unsafe, but she does everything she can to conceal this from others. However, everyone around her knows that she is truly a good person and will do whatever she can to help other people. No challenge is too hard for her.
